Artist's Comments

This was the very first of two poses resulting from hearing the song Dare by Gorillaz, and I'm more proud of this pose in spite of taking so much longer to finally get around to finishing it. I pictured it with a patchwork background, so Sonar was overlayed on this colorful image. I debated using a darker version of the background, but it didn't seem to dance with as much energy. I'll use it for something else perhaps.

Character inked in Micron pen, colored using Tria markers, some Photoshop
Background created using Trias, some Photoshop

Surprisingly no. The things we really enjoy seem to speed up time itself. :)

It seems to be a growing trend with Sonar.

Now I'm going to have to look that up online... It isn't ringing a bell. *head tilt*

Actually, same here! Her nose was originally much more spiked, but it just got squishy over time. I have another Dare-inspired sketch, and in that one I could swear I took Stitch's face and gave him eyelashes and hair. Oy... I should watch out for that.

Oh, really really nice!! I love the pose and the composition very much! (Sorry it took so long for me to find this and respond!)
