Samhain's Wyrd Ponies by WingedSonar Samhain's Wyrd Ponies by WingedSonar
I barely made the Halloween deadline to get this sucker up on the porch! She's a jumbo too!

From the episode "Lesson Zero" that aired this month for MLP:FiM, this image just screamed out to be placed on a pumpkin! The moment alone of these eyeless shadows' laughs echoing across the hills was pretty bizarre.

I accidentally also made some 3D shots and took footage if anyone's a fan of stereoscopic photos.

Forgot to mention! Extra shading enhancements were with Liquitex acrylic paint. A touch of deep red, cad yellow and forest green to get that real pumpkiney tone, black on the silhouettes.

The black parts are the paint. I'd seen it done and had to try painting on for once.

I was thinking about doing a design like this on my pumpkin for halloween this year, I was going to do Nightmare moon, Fits with Halloween, But idk what materials are needed and how can I make it glow if it's painted.

The black is paint. Hmm. I can try, I don't think it might work, but it looks awesome.

I cut them away, but I also painted them black on top of doing that just to get another level of dark the camera wouldn't pick up.

Everyone does nightmare moon's head in the moon, so deviate from the norm, I suggest, to make your creative carve stand out from the rest. See my main journal post about methods. I figure everyone could use this info instead of it getting lost here between you and I. :)

Can I have the link to the Main journal please, I will try, but this isn't the moon one, this is actually Nightmare moons head with the stars in her hair carved and the others cut away, I will try my best of course to make it stand out, but I ain't going to take a picture of it. My drawing is bad, so I think that the night mare moon might turn out bad.

Or I might do My OC with her coltfriend. So it wont be too hard.

Wow. This is some expert carving! How do you get it to glow like that?

A combination of some depth carving on the outside, and for softer shading, carving on the inside.

Holy smokes, that is amazing! Your shading technique is a great idea, too. Wow!

Thanks! This would have been impossible without acrylic. To think, I restricted myself before to just taking away without considering adding! Some told me it was cheating to add layers. Bah.

Those are anaglyphs, and I don't know how to make them. Mine aren't combined green/reds, they're separate images. Can you do Magic Eye?

Make a Magic Eye? No. I think I know how to look at Magic Eyes to see the hidden thingies, though!

Not make them, just do them, as in see them. So you'll be able to see this without the glasses! I'll get it together one of these nights. : )

That was a great moment. Are you going to submit it to Equestria Daily's pumpkin Halloween event?

Had to update on this: they extended the deadline for me and a couple other people, but I never could post or find out who won.

Yeah, I wanted to vote on the Luna one with the back-lit symbol too. Many of them were so hilarious or just plain gorgeous!

I don't even know what that is. I'm not in the fandom. Is it a club here? *does quick Google search*
