I've never done a shaded light carving before. Normally I do line art shaded from the inside of the pumpkin, not shapes and depth differences like this. I can definitely say more like this aren't out of the question for Octobers to come.
The bat I carved is a Vampyrum spectrum, and they do prey upon birds and various other large, active edibles in South America. This one might be carrying back its kill to a mate and pups waiting back home. If...he can land the shot.
