Spirit Bats Carving by WingedSonar Spirit Bats Carving by WingedSonar
Two little bat spirits swirling around one another amidst the stars. Probably the final installation of my carvings this year.

DA, please make a section specifically for carvings, regardless of surface material. This does not belong in Culinary Arts. Note: This is a non-edible, non-culinary artwork.

Oh beautiful:heart::heart: I wanna try this on my pumpkin XDD

And I agree, there should be a pumpkin-carving section

Thanks! I wanted to vectorize it so people would have a flat reference, but I just haven't found the time to return to it. Truth be told, it's only impressive in the dark.

I was thinking of rendering it in Illustrator, so that's a nice bit of encouragement. :)

Great job! This is so simple, yet beautiful. I also really like that I cannot see the hole where the candle goes. Did you put that in the bottom instead of the top?

Yeah. :)
I used to do top because I only thought of candles. Low-heat lights mean I don't have to butcher the design. Now I do either back or beneath.

I bit into a raw pumpkin last year. It was no good.

Pumpkins aren't tasty until you stick butter in them [etc.]. And the larger ones are not for eating, too flavorless. You can bite into some trees too...but why would you?

No no, that's in the seeds. It's all about the seeds. But who has time to hull all those?? O_O

Dry them out, put them in warm water and beat them with a whisk, then dry them out again.
So there.:D

Thank you so much, Jared. You know, I'm very glad this is so well-liked! The other two weren't as important, more fun for the seasonal light show to get back into the groove (no pun intended). This one is an original design and it bears personal significance, so again, thanks. :)

I agree with the problem of DA having curious and sometimes useless sections...

And this is the most beautyful carving I´ve seen this year.

Wow, with the lot that's been put out this year, that's a huge complement! Thank you. ^^
